Hello! I am Leo, a researcher affiliated with the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies at Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) and a PhD candidate in International Politics at Fudan University (2021-2024). I also hold a master’s degree in International Relations from Peking University (2018-2020).
I have worked on research projects on South-South cooperation, economic development in middle-income countries, Chinese foreign policy, and Sino-Latin American relations. This includes publications in the journal Third World Quarterly and book chapters. My main current research interest is the effectiveness of South-South cooperation, particularly the conditions affecting the success of China-backed infrastructure projects in the Global South.
My professional experience also includes consultancy jobs for the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation and Universidad del Pacifico. Additionally, I worked as a research assistant at the School of International Studies at Peking University and as an assistant to the director of the Center for China and Asia-Pacific Studies at Universidad del Pacífico.
